Next level Instagram
Creating a business Instagram account is pretty simple, but if you want to really build your profile, we have some quick and easy tips to help you along the way.
Instagram has several parts to it including your profile picture, bio, stories, posts, reels and highlights, each of these areas require different techniques to reach your audience.
Insta inspo - Build up
your profile
Here is what we suggest you can do to utilise your Insta profile in the best way:
Showcase you
Your profile picture: The natural choice would be to use your logo (handy tip: it’s easier to fit the whole logo into the circle if you upload a square image of your logo). But you could also use a graphic (fav-)icon from your brand elements, ensuring that your profile is easily recognisable.
Just starting out? Is it just you in your business? Consider using a good and professional photo of yourself as your profile picture, to make it personal and memorable!
Explain yourself
Make sure you include in your bio what exactly it is that you do, why you are good at it and give your audience a call to action. This is one of the first places people will go to find out about you, so make sure they want to stay and look further!
Visual consistency
Instagram is a visual based platform, which presents the perfect opportunity to showcase your consistent branding. Make sure your posts include your brand colours and if you can, even try to have your photos and videos showing complimentary colours to your brand. For example, if your brand colours are blue and green, you could predominantly post images which include the sky, grass, a blue coffee cup, green pen and paper, etc (while still relating to you and your services of course). Pick a style and stick to it!
Mix it up
Instagram loves a good mix of both still images and videos. When posting photos, post several in a carousel format to get people scrolling. Reels provide the opportunity for you to reach people who don’t yet follow you, so give them a go too (make sure to add trending audio)!
And as a bonus tip - make sure you include CTA’s (calls to action) to boost your engagement.
